Atlanta police are investigating the shooting death of a man just inside the front door of a home on the northwest side.

The shooting happened in the 700 hundred block Grand Ave, a half mile from APD Zone 1 precinct. Police Capt. Tim Peek told WSB's Richard Sangster that officers responded to a 911 call about 3:00 a.m. and a person had been shot. They found the man, in his late 20's-early 30's with a gunshot wound to the head.

Peek said, "The man has not been identified and there's no motive for the shooting."
