Weekend road work planned on I-75 around metro Atlanta

I-75 roadwork The Georgia Department of Transportation will start the construction on Interstate 75 at Bethlehem Road Interchange project later this year. Access to the interstate will expand to four lanes with a new bridge and add roundabouts on both sides.

ATLANTA — Weather permitting, weekend road work is planned on I-75 around metro Atlanta.

The Georgia Department of Transportation says lane closures are expected on I-75 at various locations in Cobb, Cherokee and Bartow counties for a resurfacing project.

According to officials, the project limits are from Frey Road in Cobb County to Glade Road in Bartow County.

There’s also road work scheduled near Spaghetti Junction.

Officials say from 9:00 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Sunday, one left lane on I-85 north and southbound at the I-285 interchange will also be closed.

Also, starting on Friday evening until 5 a.m. on Monday, one left lane will be closed on I-85 south at I-285 eastbound.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and prepare for extra travel time.
