ATLANTA — The Transportation Security Administration is currently testing new technology at five airports around the country, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
TSA Administrator David Cummins said the pilot program is operating in select screening lanes.
According to officials, the technology is designed to reduce wait times while strengthening the agency’s multilayered security process.
The effort is part of a broader plan to modernize TSA checkpoints.
“We want to modernize our checkpoints, bring our technology out of the dial-up age and bring in layered security that will improve both security and efficiency,” Cummins said.
