LOGANVILLE, GA — A metro Atlanta man was arrested after authorities seized drugs and weapons during a traffic stop last week.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Caravan. As a deputy approached the vehicle, he said he detected the odor of marijuana.

After conducting a search, several items were discovered, including approximately 2.3 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 10.3 pounds of suspected marijuana, approximately 12 grams of suspected fentanyl pills, approximately 325 grams of suspected marijuana wax, a heavy-lift wing drone, four 18-inch machetes.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says they also seized a large folding knife, one knife sharpener, two 12-inch hacksaw blades, two cans of high-potency OC spray, 29 cell phones and chargers, speakers, lighters, and other miscellaneous items.

The combination of these items is consistent with items commonly associated with “prison drops,” the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver, identified as Jalen Jones, was arrested. He faces multiple charges including Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Marijuana, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana Wax.

He is being held in the Monroe County Jail without bond, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The case remains under investigation.
