Tornado touched down in metro Atlanta on Monday, National Weather Service confirms

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down in DeKalb County on Monday during severe weather.

With maximum winds of 75 mph, the tornado traveled 2.7 miles and reached a maximum width of 135 yards near Snapfinger Road.

Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted, including three that fell onto homes, narrowly missing residents. No injuries have been reported.
