MACON COUNTY, GA — The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed three additional measles cases reported in Georgia.

The cases were confirmed in Macon County in southwest Georgia on Oct. 12.

According to health department officials, the three individuals with measles were all unvaccinated.

Georgia Department of Public Health officials say they are working to identify individuals who may have been exposed to measles through contact with the infected individuals.

There have now been 25 confirmed measles cases in Georgia this year, compared to only 10 in all of 2025.

Earlier this month, Georgia Department of Public Health officials confirmed an unvaccinated Macon County resident tested positive for measles.

Officials said that resident previously had contact with someone infected with measles in Pennsylvania.
