MARIETTA, GA — A teenager was killed in an E-scooter crash on a busy road in metro Atlanta.

Marietta police are investigating after a 17-year-old Daniel Jimenez Gutierrez was killed in the crash on Cobb Parkway.

According to police officials, a truck was driving south and turned right from Cobb Parkway onto Allgood Road. That is when police say the teen allegedly split the lane and ran into the side of the trailer.

Officials say Gutierrez was later knocked off the scooter and landed under the tires of the tractor-trailer.

The crash remains under investigation.
