DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A teenager was arrested and faces multiple charges in connection with a double deadly shooting last month in metro Atlanta.
DeKalb County Police responded to a home on Rockcliff Road after reports of a shooting on July 2.
Police say 13-year-old Demarcus Shirley and 45-year-old Chauncey Newman were killed in the shooting. Police previously said multiple people were inside the home at the time of the shooting and were not injured.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office along with U.S. Marshals recently took a 16-year-old boy into custody at a home in Decatur.
The teen suspect is now at a local youth detention center, officials said. His name was not released.
He faces 17 felony charges, including two counts of malice murder.
