SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A man shot by Sandy Springs police in an officer-involved shooting Thursday has died.
27-year-old LaAndre Marktanne Thomas of Jackson, Mississippi was shot as officers responded to an assault call on Dunwoody Place at Roswell Road.
During a conversation with officers, police say he pulled out a gun from his waistband.
An officer then shot Thomas.
His body will be taken to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The GBI is investigating the shooting.
