ATLANTA — A new study out of Georgia State University finds children whose mothers used marijuana while pregnant are more likely to show brain changes a decade later.

Researchers found children exposed to marijuana during pregnancy had a higher rate of behavioral issues and scored lower on memory and thinking tests compared with other children.

Researchers believe THC in marijuana interferes with chemical signals involved in fetal brain development.

The study will continue following the exposed children for another decade, including additional brain scans.
