GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A student faces charges after being accused of making online threats targeting a metro Atlanta area high school.

Police officials say the threat targeting Parkview High School in Gwinnett County was reported by students.

School police launched an investigation and the student admitted the threat was not serious.

In a letter to parents, Parkview High School’s principal says the student is facing criminal charges, along with disciplinary action at school.

The identity of the student was not released.
