AUSTELL, GA — Six Flags Over Georgia is set to reopen Friday evening, four days after a man died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster.
The park’s gates are scheduled to open at 6 p.m. Friday, but the Goliath roller coaster will remain closed as investigators continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
Hassan Kariem, 42, died Monday after falling from the ride.
Kariem is being remembered as a husband, father and technology teacher at Wesley International Academy.
A full review of the park’s procedures and maintenance of the Goliath roller coaster remains underway.
As the investigation continues, 10 similar rides across six parks in the United States and Canada have also temporarily closed.
Investigators are still working to determine what led to Kareem’s death.
