SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA — U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock says Social Circle did not sign up for an ICE detention center.
Warnock made the assessment after visiting the community to discuss the opening of a new ICE facility later this year.
While noting that Social Circle overwhelmingly voted for President Donald Trump, Warnock says residents did not vote for a detention center of that size.
“They did not vote for a 10,000 person detention center that will triple the size of their town,” Warnock said.
Warnock says the city is paying the price for what he calls out-of-control immigration policies.
