ROSWELL, GA — Roswell police have arrested a man after a woman became suspicious that her boyfriend of several years was pretending to be a police officer.

The investigation began in June when the woman contacted Roswell police to determine whether her boyfriend, Christopher Guillaume, was actually a Jonesboro police officer.

“It’s very hard to keep up a significant lie for a long period of time and not leave a breadcrumb trail that she started to pick up on those lies,” Roswell Police Officer Tim Lupo said.

Police determined Guillaume had never been employed by the Jonesboro Police Department.

“The closest that he had come was participating in a ride along and the agency shortly thereafter discovered that a cloth badge was missing from an officers uniform, consistent with the one Guillaume was seen wearing in some of his videos,” Lupo said.

Guillaume was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer and financial transaction fraud. He is being held in the Fulton County Jail on several charges.

Police are asking anyone who may have encountered Guillaume while he was presenting himself as a police officer to come forward.

“We would encourage anybody that has interactions with this individual presenting himself as a sworn police officer, to get in contact with our local police department,” Lupo said.
