ATLANTA — Atlanta police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect after a 35-year-old man was shot and killed inside a northwest Atlanta apartment.
Officers responded to reports of a person shot at the 2000 block of Peek Road NW around 3:12 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, officers found the victim inside an apartment with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as Andre Wade, was later pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit say the suspect forced his way into the victim’s apartment.
According to investigators, the suspect was wearing a hoodie with “Motivate and Elevate” printed on the back. After being shot in the left leg, the suspect removed the hoodie and left the area.
He was last seen running from an apartment building wearing all-black clothing, police said.
Investigators checked area hospitals but have not located the suspect.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
