MILTON, GA — A Milton park was scoured by police and fire departments on Friday, along with divers looking in a pond in the area.
The park is in the same neighborhood where 27-year-old Nathan Smith went missing days ago.
According to Milton police, Smith, who also goes by DJ Young Slade, walked out of his home on Baldwin Drive and Mayfield Road on Tuesday morning without his phone.
Officials confirmed that around 11:53 a.m., divers with the Cherokee County Fire Department located and recovered a body from the pond.
Milton police say the individual is believed to be Nathan Smith, pending official confirmation by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Based on the circumstances of the investigation, there is no indication of foul play. Smith is the son of Atlanta rapper Lil’ Jon.
Lil Jon posted a statement on his Instagram page, saying he is “extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith. His mother and [Nicole Smith] and I are devastated.”
His family is asking for privacy as this search continues.
