ATLANTA — Officials are issuing a warning to Georgia about a recent farmers market scam.

Matthew Agvent with the Georgia Department of Agriculture says the 2026 Gate Atlanta Vendor and Artisan Market is a scam.

The scam is designed to get information from unsuspecting Georgians, officials said.

“We were actually alerted by a concerned citizen about an event being advertised on Facebook that is supposed to take place at the Atlanta state farmers market,” Agvent said.

According to officials, the fake event was advertised as scheduled for this weekend at the Atlanta State Farmers’ Market in Forest Park. However, there is no event scheduled to take place.
