NORCROSS, GA — The City of Norcross is gathering public feedback Wednesday as it develops its first-ever Safety Action Plan.

The plan will identify strategies to improve roadway safety for pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders and drivers across Norcross. Its goal is to significantly reduce or eliminate traffic crashes, particularly those that result in deaths or serious injuries.

The Safety Action Plan will combine public input with traffic and demographic data, crash and safety analysis and the expertise of planning and transportation professionals.

City leaders say public input will play a vital role in shaping the plan. Community members attending Wednesday’s meeting will be able to share concerns and ideas related to transportation safety and learn more about the planning process.

The Safety Action Plan is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Wednesday’s public meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Norcross Community Center.
