NEWTON COUNTY, GA — Nine teens are in custody after Newton County deputies arrested them in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.

Investigators say the crimes happened over a two-week period last month at the Arbor Lake Apartments and surrounding areas.

According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects damaged at least 10 vehicles, stole five vehicles and took items from at least one vehicle.

Deputies arrested three juveniles and six other suspects ranging in age from 17 to 19.

All nine suspects remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
