Newnan woman sentenced to prison, accused of abusing adopted son

Chloe Jackson-Jones Newnan woman admits to starving, torturing 11-year-old adopted son for years (Coweta County Jail)

NEWNAN, GA — A Newnan woman will spend decades behind bars after years of abuse she is accused of inflicting upon her adopted son.

Officials say the victim was only eight-years-old when Chloe Jackson-Jones adopted him. Years later, the 61 pound, 11-year-old was seen walking down a road by a driver.

The driver who saw the boy walking down the road picked him up and called 911.

Investigators says the little boy suffered years of abuse. Evidence included photos and videos recovered from Jones’ cellphone showing the child was denied food, subjected to ice baths, tied to chairs and locked inside a closet.

Officials say he escaped by clawing thru sheet rock in a bedroom closet where he had been locked up, and then jumping from a second-story window.

A judge sentenced Jackson-Jones to 40 years in prison followed by 20 years probation.
