DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A Georgia nonprofit is working to bring more affordable housing to DeKalb County with a new development that will include 65 units and on-site resources.
Wellroot Family Services is developing the Canopy of Hope on Covington Highway in Decatur.
The development will include resources such as workforce development, a behavioral health center and therapy services. A resource hub will also provide necessities including clothing and diapers.
Wellroot is partnering with the DeKalb Housing Authority to reserve 18 units for families referred by the nonprofit and young adults aging out of foster care.
The remaining units will be available to DeKalb County residents.
Support services at the development are expected to be available by mid-2028, with the housing units expected to be available in 2029.
