ATLANTA — A new hospital is planned for Atlanta’s Southside, an area that has lacked a nearby hospital since Atlanta Medical Center closed in 2022.
Morehouse School of Medicine and Atrium Health are investing $700 million into the new hospital on Metropolitan Parkway.
The City of Atlanta is also expected to invest more than $115 million into the project.
The hospital is expected to initially have 50 beds, with plans to eventually expand to more than 700 beds, according to officials.
There is no word yet on when the hospital is expected to open.
