ATLANTA — An investigation is underway after a man wanted for murder plunged to his death while trying to escape police in Atlanta.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials say a Fulton County SWAT team responded to an apartment on Chattahoochee Avenue in Atlanta to assist U.S. Marshals.

Officials say as deputies knocked on the door, Genesis Denton, 32, of Chicago, approached a sliding glass door leading to a balcony.

Officers fired shots at the door in an effort to keep him inside, however, officials say Denton climbed over the railing and fell to the road below.
