TUCKER, GA — Gwinnett County police are investigating a deadly shooting after a man was found outside an apartment complex Sunday evening.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at an apartment complex on Preston Lake Drive, near Norcross-Tucker Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

While officers were on their way to the scene, they received a second call reporting an unresponsive person lying on the ground in a common area of the complex.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and provided first aid. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or announced any arrests. No information about a possible suspect or motive has been released.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing security camera footage as they work to determine what led to the shooting.
