GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Gwinnett County jury has found a 43-year-old man guilty of sexually assaulting a 17-year old girl.

Officials say 43-year-old Johnel Welch was found guilty of aggravated sexual battery for the 2021 incident.

The victim testified during the trial, officials said.

Welch was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years, with the possibility of parole.
