GAINESVILLE, GA — A man is facing multiple charges after Gainesville police say he broke through an apartment wall and attacked a 15-year-old girl.

Police say Obed Reyes entered the apartment on Summit Street by breaking through a closet wall. The girl was inside the unit with two young family members, ages 5 and 7, at the time.

Other residents called 911 after hearing the girl scream. Police say witnesses saw Reyes drag the teenager outside the unit by her hair while punching her multiple times.

Reyes also threatened to rape the girl during the assault, according to police.

Officials say Reyes lived in the same apartment complex but did not know the teenager before the attack.

Reyes was taken to the Hall County Jail and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and attempted rape.
