COWETA COUNTY, GA — Five people were arrested after a fight broke out near the entrance of the East Coweta Football Stadium during the East Coweta-Newnan football game.

Coweta County sheriff’s deputies were working at the game on Aug. 28 when they witnessed the fight break out around 9:10 p.m. Deputies immediately intervened, broke up the fight and detained multiple people.

Once deputies gained control of the situation, a bystander turned over a handgun that was reportedly found on the ground during the altercation.

Deputies secured the gun and reviewed footage to determine how the fight started and where the firearm came from. During the investigation, deputies identified 20-year-old Shamarion Reese as the person they believed had been in possession of the gun during the fight.

Reese was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm on school grounds and affray.

Ashton Richardson, 18, Jontavious Broome, 17, and Mark Williams, 18, were also arrested and charged with affray.

Kashmir Richardson, 17, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

A juvenile male was also charged with affray and turned over to a guardian at the scene.
