ATLANTA — Georgia is one of several states receiving subpoenas from the Department of Homeland Security seeking voter information.

Gabe Sterling with the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office says the agency is requesting information on 13 people.

Sterling says the rhetoric surrounding this election season needs to be toned down.

“We will do our best to follow the law like we always do and protect everybody’s right to actually vote,” Sterling said.

A DHS spokesperson says the agency is “actively rooting out election fraud” to ensure only American citizens are electing American leaders.
