FULTON COUNTY, GA — The owner of a Fulton County mental health clinic has been indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud and making false statements and writings, according to the Georgia Attorney General’s Office.

Desmond Maul, 74, owns and operates Family 360 Inc., an outpatient mental health and chemical dependency service provider.

According to the indictment, Maul continued billing Medicaid for services as if a psychiatrist who had died in 2021 had provided or supervised the care.

Investigators allege Maul put the deceased psychiatrist’s name and signature to treatment notes for services provided after his death.

The alleged fraud occurred between August 2021 and September 2023, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

During that time, Maul allegedly received more than $88,000 in payments from the Georgia Medicaid program.

Attorney General Chris Carr said his office will continue working to protect taxpayer dollars and investigate fraud and abuse in Georgia’s Medicaid program.
