FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Forsyth County lawmakers have approved a six-figure contract to bring the county’s criminal warrant process online.
The Board of Commissioners approved $104,000 for a one-year trial of CloudGavel, an electronic warrants system.
The cloud-based system allows law enforcement officers to request search and arrest warrants electronically from wherever they are.
The system is expected to give law enforcement and judges a faster way to process warrants while testing whether the technology should be used beyond the initial year.
Judges can then review and sign the warrants in real time, according to officials.
