Former High Museum of Art executive sentenced to federal prison

ATLANTA — The former chief operating officer of Atlanta’s High Museum of Art has been sentenced to a year in federal prison.

Federal prosecutors say Brady Lum is accused of doctoring invoices and approving transactions for personal purchases.

He is accused of embezzling more than $600,000 from the museum.

In addition to serving prison time, officials say Lum is required to pay back all of the money that he stole.

Previous court documents say the alleged scheme involved falsified or inflated vendor payments routed through museum accounts over a period of time.

Officials say he also voluntarily paid about $500,000 to the High Museum to cover the costs the museum incurred while investigating his crimes.
