Escaped Douglas County inmate back in custody after search

Isaac Kindle (Douglas County Sheriff's Office)

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — An inmate who escaped from Douglas County Thursday is back in custody, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials say inmate trustee Isaac Kindle was assigned to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office car wash when he left in a sedan driven by a woman.

The woman was later stopped and taken into custody in Cobb County, but Kindle was not with her.

Authorities continued searching for Kindle and later announced that he had been apprehended.

Kindle is now being transported back to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Tim Pounds thanked the agencies involved in the coordinated effort to return Kindle to Douglas County.
