DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Dekalb County residents can now receive breast cancer treatment closer to home as Emory Decatur Hospital is expanding their care to cover breast cancer patients.

Breast Surgical Oncologist Priscilla McAuliffe is set to lead the service at Emory Decatur Hospital.

McAuliffe says there is one misconception of this type of treatment.

“Sometimes people see a diagnosis of breast cancer as a death sentence,” she said. “But the truth is, the care has become so excellent.”

McAuliffe says with an increase in breast cancer surgeons at Emory University, doctors can offer these types of services at more locations.
