ATLANTA — Dragon Con wrapped up its 40th year in Atlanta after bringing about 75,000 people downtown for the five-day convention.

The internationally known pop culture, fantasy, sci-fi and gaming convention ran from Thursday through Monday.

Organizers say attendees raised more than $320,000 for HOPE Atlanta, the convention’s official charity. Final fundraising totals are still being calculated.

Fans also donated more than 5,000 children’s books as part of a book drive inspired by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The books will go to the Fulton County Library System and Georgia Public Library Service for children across the state.

During the convention, fans also voted on fan favorite awards and had opportunities to meet actors from iconic shows.

Dragon Con is set to return to Atlanta next Labor Day.
