Downtown Decatur library reopens with increased security after shooting

DECATUR, GA — The library in downtown Decatur reopened Monday at 9 a.m., one week after a shooting in an upstairs computer room.

DeKalb County leaders said improved security measures are in place, including an increased police presence.

44-year-old Medicus Brown faces multiple charges after the shooting, including attempted murder.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe an argument led to the gunfire.
