COBB COUNTY, GA — As conflict and global tensions continue to evolve, military leaders are highlighting the role of Dobbins Air Reserve Base in the metro Atlanta area.

Col. Diane Patton, commander of the 94th Airlift Wing, described the Cobb County base as a major training center for the U.S. military.

“It is one of the most complex, highly utilized and strategically vital joint service installations in the United States,” Patton said.

Military leaders say access to modern equipment and training is increasingly important as global threats change.

Georgia airmen are stationed in five of the six U.S. joint military command regions, according to military officials.

Dobbins Air Reserve Base supports training and operations involving multiple branches of the military.

Leaders say the base’s location, resources and joint-service capabilities make it an important part of preparing service members for evolving threats.
