A Gwinnett County woman has been charged with identity fraud for allegedly using a stolen Fed Ex shipping number to have boxes of cupcakes shipped cross-country.
GPD Detective Seth Bailey tells Channel 2 Action News a Fed Ex office in Tennessee intercepted one shipment because it looked suspicious; it turned out to be cake pops, "Federal Express provided a list of shipments and they were all to multiple address across the continental United States."
The return address was the Verizon Wireless corporate office in Alpharetta; they never authorized it. Police determined it had been sent by 44-year-old Kimberly Zanders, who runs a web-based company called Cupcake Utopia.
