SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A construction worker has died after being hit in a work zone on Georgia 400 in metro Atlanta.

Sandy Springs police officials say the man was found dead in the southbound lanes near Abernathy Road early Thursday morning.

Police say the driver of a Toyota Tacoma faces homicide by vehicle in the second degree charges. The driver also faces move over law violations.

The identity of the victim and the driver were not released.

This is an active investigation.
