COBB COUNTY, GA — An 18-year-old is facing a felony charge after allegedly bringing a knife to McEachern High School in Cobb County.

Jesus Garcia Hernandez is accused of bringing a knife to class at the school.

The Cobb County School District says administrators quickly confiscated a pocketknife that was brought onto campus and took appropriate action.

“No threats were made, and all students are safe,” the district said in a statement.

Hernandez was arrested and charged with felony possession of a weapon on school grounds.

He was booked into the Cobb County Jail and later released on an $8,400 bond.
