ATLANTA — Atlanta Police officials say crime has been declining across the city.
The number of people who were shot in the city has dropped by nearly a quarter this year.
According to the latest crime numbers, just over 300 shooting victims were confirmed through mid-October.
At the same time last year, officials say there were almost 400 shooting victims.
“This progress matters,” Atlanta officials said. “Every neighborhood deserves to feel safe, and our work to build one safe city continues.”
Overall, police officials say crime is down by 13%.
Car thefts have also dropped by 19 percent, and thefts from vehicles are down 33 percent, police officials said.
