ATLANTA — A federal judge has sentenced an Atlanta man to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to federal charges involving the production and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Savannah says Octavius Sheffield sexually abused a teenager multiple times in 2022 and recorded the encounters on his cellphone.
According to prosecutors, Sheffield also made internet searches that winter, including one about a 21-year-old getting a 15-year-old pregnant.
In addition to his prison sentence, officials say Sheffield must also pay $200 to the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Fund.
According to officials, the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Fund helps determine whether victims depicted in child sexual abuse material are eligible for one-time compensation.
