Atlanta eliminated from consideration to host 2028 Democratic National Convention

ATLANTA — Atlanta is officially out of the running to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention.

Democratic National Committee leaders selected Boston, Denver and Philadelphia as the three finalists to host the convention, eliminating Atlanta and Chicago from consideration.

The party has not said why Atlanta and Chicago were eliminated.

A spokesperson for Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens responded to the decision, saying, “It is unfortunate to learn of this via the press.”

A final decision on which city will host the 2028 Democratic National Convention is expected later this year.
