ATLANTA — The Atlanta Dream are searching for a big enough venue to host WNBA Finals games after advancing to the championship against the Golden State Valkyries.

Last week, the Atlanta Dream announced a new multi-year agreement with State Farm Arena that will make the award-winning downtown Atlanta venue the new home for all home games beginning in the 2027 season.

The Valkyries (32-12) have homefield advantage, which means Games 3, 4 and 6 are scheduled to be played in Atlanta at the Gateway Center Arena, which only has 3,500 seats.

The team was hoping to play the games at State Farm Arena for the WNBA Finals which seats more than 17,000. However, State Farm Arena is booked for two Atlanta Hawks regular season games and a concert.

The Dream, led by Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Jordin Canada, Angel Reese and a collective group of stars finished the season with a 30-14 record.

They face a Valkyries team led by Veronica Burton, Gabby Williams, Tiffany Hayes, Kayla Thornton and a great group of versatile players.

During the past five years under new ownership, the Dream has enjoyed a more than 400% growth in season ticket members.

The championship series between the Dream and Valkyries is set to tip off Saturday in San Francisco.
