ATLANTA — An Atlanta business owner is asking for the public’s help after her food truck was stolen from a lot on Jonesboro Road while she was at home recovering from epileptic seizures.

Njeri Thompson says her “Mac Queen” food truck was taken from its regular spot on Aug. 11 after someone managed to remove all six locks securing it.

“Someone came and somehow in the middle of the day came and removed somehow, we don’t know, all six locks and were able to hitch it on to another truck and drive it right off the parking lot,” Thompson said.

Witnesses told Thompson the food truck was hitched to a black Dodge Ram and driven away in the middle of the day.

“They actually hitched it on to the back of a black Dodge Ram is what the witnesses are telling us that they saw, and they hitched it in the middle of the day, and just pulled right off,” Thompson said.

Flock cameras later captured the truck traveling along Jonesboro Road.

Thompson says the food truck is her primary source of income. The single mother operates the business with her daughters.

“They all help me and all work on the truck together, so this is devastating,” Thompson said.

Thompson is asking anyone with information about the stolen food truck to contact police.
