3 arrested in Quik Trip robbery

Three people have been arrested for holding up a Quik Trip convenience store in Conyers.  Police are looking into the possibility that they may be responsible for a similar robbery at a QT in Gwinnett County.

Conyers Police Sgt. Chris Moon tells WSB the robbery happened just before 3am at the QT on West Avenue on August 25th, when several customers inside.

"One was armed with a silver, semi-automatic handgun and he stood by the door preventing anyone from coming or going from the store.  The second suspect entered, went to the register, demanded money from the clerk, and then actually went through the register itself to make sure that she wasn't holding out on him," said Moon.

After the robbery, they left just as a police officer was pulling in.  He chased them but lost them on foot.  A short time later, police caught up with a man who said he had been carjacked near Rockdale County, but it turns out he was the getaway driver in the QT robbery.  All three were eventually arrested.

Antoine Foster, 18, the suspected getaway driver, has been charged with armed robbery. Alphonso Watts, 20, and Darrelle Robinson, 19, have been charged with armed robbery and numerous counts of false imprisonment and aggravated assault.

Meantime,  Gwinnett County Police are looking into the possibility that the three could be responsible for a similar robbery at the QT in Snellville on Highway 124.
