COBB COUNTY, GA — A 2-year-old girl is recovering after nearly drowning in an apartment complex swimming pool during her own birthday party.

Cobb County police were called to the Stadium Walk Apartments on Circle 75 Parkway after the toddler lost consciousness in the pool.

Residents had been celebrating the girl’s birthday when they noticed her body floating in the apartment complex’s swimming pool. Partygoers immediately pulled the unresponsive toddler from the water and began CPR.

The girl regained consciousness before Cobb County police officers and Marietta Fire EMTs arrived and provided medical aid.

She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment and is now recovering.

Police say foul play is not suspected.
