Roswell Police says at least two suspects have hostages at an apartment complex that police have surrounded.

Authorities responded to the Aspen Point Apartments on Grand Crique Parkway after a possible home invasion there around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

WSB's Richard Sangster reports that the suspects fired on officers and then took two women and a man hostage.

Lt. James McGee tells News/Talk WSB, the suspects tried to break through inside walls to escape.   "What they were trying to do is get outside the apartment where there are some weeds and some bushes in the back of that apartment.  But we had it surrounded, so they couldn't go any further."

Sangster reports the Alpharetta SWAT team has joined the standoff sending more than a half dozen officers.
