OK, one more time with feeling...

Q – I am having a problem with drain flies. What should I do?

Anne – Brookhaven

A – This, believe it or not, has been the single most asked question over the last 3 weeks. Nary has a day gone by when 3 or 4 drain fly infestations are asked about. So here we go, this time I really mean it…

First of all you need to spray your drains with poison. Use this:

Gentrol IGR and Alpine Flea & Tick with IGR. Anytime you are dealing with drain flies, phorid flies, fleas, and/or German roaches you want a product with an IGR. Certain insects reproduce so quickly, the only way to get quick control/elimination is to prevent the adults from laying fertile eggs. The IGR, (insect growth regulator) does not kill the fleas or roaches on contact, but it does prevent the insects from being able to reproduce.

So the little buzzers won’t die on contact. They will live their two to 3 day life-spans. But the eggs they lay won’t hatch, so you have put an end to your problem.

Use the Gentrol according to label directions. You may have to treat twice.
