Wendy Williams' estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, out as executive producer of her show

NEW YORK — Wendy Williams' estranged husband, Kevin Hunter, has been fired from "The Wendy Williams Show" a week after the talk show host filed for divorce.

"Kevin Hunter is no longer an executive producer on 'The Wendy Williams Show,'" a spokesperson for the daytime talk show, produced by Lionsgate's Debmar-Mercury, said in a statement to Variety. "Debmar-Mercury wishes him well in his future endeavors."

TMZ reported on Tuesday that Hunter's exit from the show was coming soon. Hunter allegedly fathered a baby with a woman with whom he's had a decadelong affair. Those rumors have not been confirmed by Hunter or Williams, but Hunter said in a statement released Tuesday that he was "trying to right some wrongs."

“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans,” Hunter said in the statement. “I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs. No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine.”

In the wake of Hunter’s firing, some tabloid reports claim Hunter will get a multimillion dollar payout to leave the show. Those reports have not been confirmed.

Williams is quickly moving forward since filing for divorce. The 54-year-old told her viewers on her show Monday that she will be moving out of the sober house she’s been living in “for some time now.”

"It's so crazy because now my business is your business," she said. "I'm moving out of sober house in just a few days, you know. It'll be Wendy on her own. I have to tell you, you know I've been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son."

According to TMZ, Williams beefed up personal security about a week before serving Hunter with the divorce papers. Divorce documents show Williams cited "irreconcilable differences between the parties which have caused the breakdown of the marriage for a period of six months" and "no reasonable prospect of reconciliation," according to ET.
