Crews respond to large wildfire near Stone Mountain Park

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga — Fire officials are on the scene of a wildfire in Stone Mountain.

Our partners at Channel 2 flew over the area of Highway 78 and Hugh Howell Road on Monday afternoon, where they spotted flames and large clouds of smoke.

It is unclear exactly how the fire began.

The DeKalb County Fire Department confirmed the Georgia Forestry Commission and Gwinnett Fire are assisting, along with Stone Mountain Park officials.
